To start things off I want to do something a little different. I want to create something that feels like an artifact, something that looks like it has some serious age on it. With something this size it needs to have character and texture. I’m thinking up a back story of how and where this Cthulhu idol would have been ‘discovered’.
It’s me and what I create.
I’ve been an artist my whole life but it has only been the last few years that I fully embraced it. I have a bad case of something called Impostor Syndrome. That sounds like some crazy disease but it isn’t something you’ll catch from shaking hands. Over simplifying it Impostor Syndrome is feeling like you don’t know what you are doing when you really do. It’s not feeling good enough, or that you are really able to do something or be something.
A psychological pattern in which an individual doubts their accomplishments and has a persistent internalized fear of being exposed as a “fraud”. Despite external evidence of their competence, those experiencing this phenomenon remain convinced that they are frauds, and do not deserve all they have achieved. Individuals with impostorism incorrectly attribute their success to luck, or as a result of deceiving others into thinking they are more intelligent than they perceive themselves to be.Impostor Syndrome – WIkipedia
But after enough time I’ve decided to just push past that and launch this site. I’ve had enough people want to have some of the things that I’ve created and designed that I’m going to start offering some for sale. What are you going to find here? Anything and everything. To start there will be castings of some of my latest sculptures that are inspired by the dark and fantastical works of H.P. Lovecraft. There will be some decorative items and several that will be created to look and feel like artifacts that are pulled from the Lovecraft universe and mythos.
I’ll also be sharing a peek into my designs as sketchbook views and previews of sculptures and pieces I’m sculpting. So welcome and I promise, it’ll be weird.
